2009 GTI flashing PRNDS - need transmission shop in Houston TX

Hey everyone. My GTI has a tad over 102k miles on her now and this morning the transmission got sick.

I limped it to an Audi/VW shop in Houston, but the technician is telling me I need an entirely new transmission. Before I blindly fork over a credit card, I'm going to tow it to another shop. Someone a tad more reputable.

Does anyone in the Houston, TX area have any recommendations? Should I bite the bullet and send it to the dealership?

never take it to the dealership. im not from houston but id google vw certified mechanics and take it to one of them

Doesn't that usually mean new mechatronics unit? I've seen them on OEM parts websites for like $1200 and the part itself is located on the outside of the transmission.
