Any idea what I'll need from the other car (codes, etc?). Its coming from a friend so I'll have full access to the VIN, etc

I assume the connections are plug and play

If the 2013 radio doesn't have built-in Bluetooth, you'll need a different harness.

My 2009 had a Sirius tuner under the passenger seat, that's where I put the Bluetooth module.

You'll need the radio code, which may be in the manual. If not, calling a dealer with the VIN seems to be hit or miss.

You may also need an antenna adapter or a Sirius antenna extender.

Sorry for the interruption but can I add bluetooth to the original factory radio? (2008 GTI)

You actually can with the module and a mic. Sound quality is terrible, but it is possible with the premium 7
