I went, it was terribly hot day and not much shade so a bit uncomfy in the open. It was 99% aircooled (no pun intended) with about 3 or 4 watercooled golf's including my red gti. I think a chap in mk4 won the watercooled prize.
The combi's were amazing and bought back plenty memories. The beetle and beachbuggy engines were great with looooooots of mods.
Was speaking to a renowned springbok vw mechanic chap in wangara who also was one of the sponsors, and he made mention of wanting to organise a watercooled event in the future. That would be awesome.
