It's the soft rubber gasket that mounts at the top of the firewall, and seals against the hood when the hood is closed.
The reason I ask: I was driving just now and smelled something burning. Turns out this gasket got dislodged and fell down behind the engine, onto what I assume is the exhaust, and started to smolder. So I want to order a replacement, but I'm not sure how to search for it.
