So you think that if I do the modified FW2760 with 1200vuci update, I don't loose my maps (going from fw1200)?
I ask this because I don't have a dvd the 7.1 or 7.2 maps, so if I do the firmware update and loose the map on my hdd, I can't use the navi anymore.

Idk about this modded version,but if it based on 2760 its no factory...and 1200 is also no factory

you can see if its factory if theres a "9"

CD --> #CD

If theres a "3" ,its a normal update without delete anything!

But i dont know about modded version...

Someone who posted higher up in this thread says they have canbus gateways cheaper than VW, I think it is possible for them to be programmed before you receive it. So ask nicely and he may programme it for your car and all you need to do is install it then. Problem solved. £100 well spent.
