Yes another thread, seems as I fix something a new problem arises

Just finished replacing the oil filter housing/cooler unit.

At idle there is a loud whistling sound coming from the front right section of the engine bay, additionally while driving and coming to a stop the vehicle gets stuck at 1100 RPM and takes quite a bit before coming back down to normal idle.

I noticed the current PCV looks aftermarket and has been replaced with a Chinese part. It is also possible while doing the oil housing replacement a vacuum line of some sort cracked.

Ive been debating on doing a PCV delete, though it doesn't sound very efficient, im sure VW put it there for a reason.

Here are the codes.

May also want to check the rear pipe from the brake booster seeing that the front section broke already.

If you want to upgrade the plastic pipes https://www.uspmotorsports.com/SPULEN-2.0T-FSI-Brake-Booster-Hose-Kit.html

I will be buying this kit, it should be replacing everything together:

That upgrade is a great idea, for a piece of mind as well.

By any chance do you know which revision PCV I should be going for? I may stop at a dealer tomorrow and grab one to save time from shipping. Ive heard the breather tube is worth replacing as well while im there.

From VW that is the only way you repair a broken / cracked hose for that front piece. You can also go to the auto store and try to get a vacuum hose to make repairs or get the kit posted and be done with the plastic breaking cracking issues.

PCV latest number 06F129101P, confirm with dealer. If using this part you need the correct rear tube 06F103215B, clip n90739901, gasket 06f145757f and PCV gasket 06f103483e

Not sure about the US market but there are two different types of PCV on these engines that are not interchangeable so it's best to look which one you have (I think one of them has a hose with a check valve while for the other it's built-in the PCV assembly, externally they look the same but the car will run poorly in case you take the wrong one):

06F-129-101-R

Old Versions 06F-129-101-N, 06F-129-101-L, 06F-129-101-K, 06F-129-101-F, 06F-129-101-C

06F-129-101-P

Old Versions 06F-129-101-E, 06F-129-101-G

OP drive a GTI so the 06F129101R is not correct. In a MKV that part is only correct for the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta Mk5 2.0T FSI up to VIN 1K-6-627-732

So it's probably more an issue in Europe. Because here a lot of GTI have the revision F PCV which calls for the revision R (all the AXX engines at least), there are several threads of people who ordered the wrong one.
