Bumping a great thread. I'm running dual rings, but thinking hard about a quad setup now.

Thread revival

Sorry for pulling up an old thread guys.

Just picked up a 2009 Pirelli edition for the missus and have been wondering where you are all buying your parts these days.

I'd like to get a set of LED lights for the rear, doing the fog/reverse light change is pretty easy, did it to my own GTI back in 2008. Oh how I miss that car.

Cheers

Tim.

I get many parts from ECS tuning or Keffervw.

I forgot about that - because your inners are on the same circuit as the middle circle on the outer lights.. Sorry to hear that mate.

Well to wire the inners to parkers all you'd need to do is cut the positive wires at your outers' plugs and crimp them to position 3 instead of 2 (or the other way around on the right side). Up to you which look you prefer but the switch itself shouldn't be hard.

Amazing job what you can do with Valeo's
Hope you guys can help. Sorry for the questions.
I wanted to know how to wire my inner led valeo tail lights to the outers to have park and brake without faults on the dash.
I understand that you have to wire the inner lights to the parkers and brake and switch that pin to the parkers pin position to have the inner lights work on parkers and brake. (Quad lights skyline effect)
What do I do with the brake pin I removed?
Is this the correct process?
Could you guys help what to do on vcds to clear faults and anything I'm missing please

Thanks guys in advance

Do you have LEDs in the inners? They don't come from the factory with LEDs in place. They have to be modded. Wiring into the car is the easy bit.

Disable the cold diagnostics and you should have no errors.

Cheers mate,

What's the best way of wiring to have the quad ring effecf for both parkers and brake?

You'll have to experiment. I suggested early on in this thread to change the pin assignment in the loom to the outer. But I'm not sure it will work because of the way the system works. You could try getting into VCDS and setting tail lights to 0% then setting the "brake light as tail light" function to whatever value was for the tail light. If you get the dot only on the outer working as tail light and brake, then re-assign the pins in the loom plug as outlined above.

Cheers @buckets!
Will play around and see what I come up with.
Probably just keep it tapped in to the parkers and keep it unique to the skyline as you said earlier in the thread..
Thanks for your replies guys I'll post pics with my final outcome

@j9ysn - How did you go with the project? Been a few months and no pics.

Update for those wanting this mod done

I'm now working with The Retrofitters for this mod. Those who want it can order the OEM Valeos through them and have them modded before they arrive to you. Mods include dual reverse, and the quad ring as DkN has had done.
