Yes, that's it. It popped out nice and clean. You won't hurt anything.

Thank you sir. Unfortunately, I'll have to deal with this VERY annoying sound until this weekend. I don't have time to do it this week due to overtime at work and school. I like a nice cold engine to work on instead of a hot one :/.

So, would removing this valve be appropriate for a stock tune? I've updated my front PCV with the factory revision but have noticed a slight idle fluctuation and am wondering if removing this valve might help in fixing this fluctuation?

I just did the rear PCV installation on my 2008 BWA engine yesterday. I didn't hear any strange sounds with the check valve installed. I have the upgraded factory front PCV . Previously, I i had oil leaking into the intercooler and smoke coming from somewhere. I'll give feedback in a few days after logging my wastegate duty cycle which was at 99% @WOT
