Front turn signal holder

My front turn signal holder has seen better days. I have been unable to find the part or even a part number. Can anyone help?

Do not think you are going to find that part from VW except if you buy the whole housing seeing that it is part of the housing wiring. The only one that I see is for the parking light.

Thanks for the information. The holder broke into three pieces when I removed the bulb, working on repairs now.

Wish someone could come up with a HID to Hologen conversion, the aging HID's could become a very expensive proposition to keep going.

Just swap over to Rabbit HL and buy correct 10 pin plug and re-pin from the 12 pin connector what you only need.

The melted socket was so brittle if you looked at it wrong it would break. I used a dremel, super glue, two part epoxy and thread to get it together. Ugly I know, but it is working.

The super glue was used to tack the pieces together. The thread was infused with epoxy and wrapped around the socket, once cured this becomes very strong and temperature resistant. The dremel was used to shape the inside of the socket, to except the bulb again. I also had to used the dremel to clean up the headlight opening so the socket could be reinstalled.

Yes some bits need too be changed to revert to standard HL from HID.

Why did the socket melt, improper loose install?? Why not pull a used one from a yard? Seeing that you cut the wiring for your repair.

That bulb was always brighter than the other side. May have been the wrong bulb. Not sure the bulb was destroyed getting it out, so I could not read the number on it.

A salvaged part is a thought, I may make some calls.
