Timing Chain + Tensioner LAWSUIT! *READ*

So I’m not sure if you guys have heard about this yet. But I just got a letter in the mail stating that a lawsuit is about to or is going to pass. The lawsuit consists of having to repair the timing chain + tensioner. According to the letter anyone who got the repair done to their car (depending on car year and mileage) gets a full reimbursement on the cost.

Yeah I got that letter also. No chain or tensioner failures on either of my TSI engines yet, thankfully (93k and 102k miles now).

BUT, they only cover you 100% for reimbursement if it failed under 5 years or 60k miles, in which case.... it would have been covered under warranty anyway. Check the table that shows the pro-rated reimbursement levels.

Lame it doesn't go back to 2006.

Second link contradicts the first one. The first says 08 - 14, the second says 06 - 16.

Failed, taking out cylinder head with no warning at 100,502. FML.

settlement check showed up today... I'm paid back in full. :biggrin:
