So then naturally, i just had to find some time to put all the things, and see how it went. First stress of the process was to see of the mounts would actually fit, since, they were not listed for my car. However everyone reassured me after a lot of photos going back and forth that they would actually fit.
Driver's - Gearbox side Airbox removed ![]() ![]() Mount removed Side by side ![]() What a weird shaped mount. Seems like they will be ok though ![]() ![]() Test fitted and went in first time ![]() Marked my bolts, cause you know me. Installed the airbox back in- needs a good clean, LoL ![]() Now, for the passenger's - engine side ![]() This is the actual mount ![]() This was very tired. Side by side with the VT one ![]() ![]() Installed in place ![]() ![]() ![]() Finally the lower mount - no problems here Out with the old oem mount with the Powerflex insert ![]() In with the complete replacement of the VT one ![]() ![]() I was very anxious as to how it would behave, given this is a diesel engine, and vibrations are there. Even in a petrol car, when you go to stiffer mounts, you can feel it in the cabin. However, no drama. Yes, when the car is cold, and the ac on sometimes it can get a little harsh, but nothing major, and only at idle. Feels very very nice, and no going back whatsoever . . . . Cheers |

The vibra technics mounts are amazing, in my opinion they are the best mounts so far. I have them installed in my Rocco with aggressive power and no way to back to any other tested mounts I tried before.

Then it was a matter of installing all of the new bushed and things to complete the puzzle
Old rear control arm bushings ![]() Inner Arches were tired ![]() ![]() ![]() Disassembling ![]() Front suspension removed for the top mount bushings and bearings ![]() ![]() OEM vs Powerflex Black Bushings ![]() Steering rack ball joints, that love my wide wheels+Spacers+Ride Height combo a lot, i am sure ![]() Control arms removed ![]() New arches bought from the dealership, ready to be installed In place ![]() ![]() ![]() I need to clean my suspension, makes me sad to see it like that ![]() Putting shinny things back on ![]() ![]() ![]() Old bushings removed, new ones, Powerflex black bushings front and rear, in place ![]() ![]() These are not only firm, but also, stealthy, noone knows they are there, except for you. Ok maybe the passenger as well. ![]() ![]() ![]() Until i show you some final photos after the alignment and fitment of the new suspension components, here's a small, but not cheap side projects i have been working on. ![]() Any ideas ? I bought this expensive bad boy. It is suitable for M5, M6, M8 and M10 rivnuts. I always wanted this, and instead of going to body shops, have one just for me. This gives you the ability to go oem fitment on all custom mounted parts, so it's just what i wanted. Also acquired some cobalt drill bits all the way to 13mm. Cant go wrong with quality tools i guess. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() First job i tried it on, was the rear fire extinguisher mount. ![]() It was installed with self-tapping screws, which due to vibrations, at some point, fail. ![]() Drilled the holes to 8mm ![]() M8 Rivnut with some red loctite ![]() ![]() Ah, better ![]() |

Now, for the fitment photos, after the suspension has settled. Car feels amazing, mush stiffer but in a good way, not here and there, more like in one place. Sharper, and precise
![]() Without doing anything to the front ride height from the suspension settings, look how much higher it sat from the changes of components.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers everyone, I hope you liked the updates For faster updates, as always, follow me on instagram, @mgpdoc |

After 3,5 year of owning the car from new, and 55k kms, my floormates were looking tired. Not bad for a daily.
I didnt like the options my dealership had to offer, so i searched online for something custom, and subtle. So, onto the pics as always. ![]() ![]() ![]() Out with the old ones ![]() ![]() Transferred my custom billet securing clips onto them ![]() ![]() That uneven stitching gets my OCd a bit, but oh well . . . ![]() Installed them on the car ![]() Looked perfect ![]() ![]() ![]() And the rear ones ![]() Cheers guys Mike |

Took the car on yet another roadtrip to central Greece
![]() Then I did a mod i saw on Youtube from Obsessed garage. He gave me the idea, how to eliminate this thing that happens at gas stations ![]() So this is before ![]() Remove the whole assembly ![]() Remove this, which looks like a . . . . . you know ![]() This is all we are gonna need ![]() Ah much better ![]() ![]() Now if it falls, it falls down. Not on my fender. Now, I am sure some guy at a petrol station will open it, and leave it on the top of the car, that is why, i am always there, you know just in case. Been looking for a short shifter for this car for quite a long time, however never pointed me in the right direction. Either nobody knew, or nobody cared I guess. However searching over at briskoda forum, i was almost sure i found one, and after talking with the company , they assured me it would fit, so i gave it a go. Even if it didnt the price was worth it for a shot. ![]() ![]() Lovely piece of product ![]() ![]() Oem one ![]() New one in place ![]() ![]() Feels SO much better, the travel of the shifter, and the feedback from it. Amazing value for money mod in my opinion. It would be rude not to give it a good wash ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers Mike |

Here they are
![]() And their specific connectors ![]() Unboxing the EGT ![]() And the water temp ![]() Threw them on to see how they would look ![]() ![]() ![]() Really came together ![]() ![]() Then I found an old adapter housing i had for the water hoses, that i had used in the golf. ![]() Bought all new clamps, and oem hoses to see if it would fit without removing the ones from the car ![]() ![]() It worked great, but the blue theme, just didnt work for me anymore. So, I could paint it black, or silver, or i could do something even harder. Make a copy out of scratch aluminum. This piece, will become our final product ![]() There we go ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Test fitted the sensor ![]() All great ![]() Now all i have to do is install them , both the exhaust temp and water temp and we will be good to go And last but not least, another project . . . . Remember my TTs steering wheel ? Removed it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This came to the rescue ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, used my Golf a bit more ![]() Dont worry, i didnt go back to this steering wheel for no reason. I sent mine off to UK, to get some Alcantara, and Carbon fiber treatment. Super excited. Cant wait to show you guys results :) Cheers Mike, mgpdoc over at instagram for faster updates. |

Spent some time at the exhaust shop, removing my downpipe, and welding the exhaust temp sensor adapter, from Defi.
![]() Out of focus pics for the win ![]() Then i cut the radiator hose, drained the fluids, and inserted the adapter for the water temp sensor. Went for simple clamps, because they fitter better in situ compared to the heavu duty ones. Filled with G13 again, and Happy to report, no leaks. ![]() Then it was matter of connecting the sensors with the Defi main unit under the steering wheel. The route through the firewall was known from the installation of the previous gauges, so again, removal of tray stuff ![]() ![]() My main goal was for the wiring to be visible, but oem+ fitment. I think it came out great ![]() ![]() ![]() And there they are, the water temp and exhaust gas temp readings on my 1.6 tdi, making 160hp at the dyno. ![]() ![]() Excuse the iphone pics, but i was excited. Cheers guys , more things on the way, stay tuned. Mike |

Another thing that was on my list, was to upgrade all of the interior switche to the Q3 / A1 facelift model. I had been postponing this mode due to the fact that i would have to not only purchase them all from the dealership to begin with, but also, to change their colour afterwards to match the white new interior lighting theme. I didnt want to go for cheap ebay china replicas.
However, i thought that i could purchase them, and then just change the caps, and keep the electronic parts as spares. And i was right. Photos are always better than talking so. . . . Parts were bought Some G13 to replace the one i spent for the water sensor. ![]() ![]() ![]() Interior parts were removed ![]() ![]() ![]() The only tools I needed ![]() Unboxing new stuff ![]() ![]() ![]() Now let's start replacing them ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One down, many to go ![]() Another one done ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Finally, installed on the car ![]() ![]() With white light colour ![]() Very happy with the results. A subtle, but very nice mod. Cheers |

So, some more updates then.
First I tried an optic thing in the front of the car. I added a black part between the headlighs and the front grille. I tried it with some 3M black vinyl i had laying in the garage. It came out nicely, I think i might do it if i keep this bumper . . . ![]() ![]() ![]() 50:50 shot ![]() I liked it. I might do it properly ![]() Now some other orders that were incoming . . . I ordered a phone mount from OEMMOUNTS from UK. I normally hate phone mounts in the car, i think they are ugly and destroy the oem theme. however, this mount, at least for me, changes things. Here is what you receive ![]() They even supply the tool to remove the vents ![]() ![]() ![]() Amazing guys ![]() Mount in place, behing the vents ![]() ![]() ![]() Dont mind the temporary steering wheel ![]() ![]() I like it very much ![]() more to come cheers Mike |

Hello and Merry Xmas to all of you guys who are still into forum build threads. Seems like Youtube has killed forum of every kind
Found some time to do some maintenance stuff mostly. First I had to prep the summer wheels i took off the Audi A1. ![]() ![]() Foam Lance comes very hand in every case. ![]() Also what helps A LOT is the wax/sealant i had used after the powdercoating. It helps a lot guys. ![]() Then, onto air to remove all water and then reseal for winter storage ![]() ![]() ![]() Then I spent some time on the Golf. First i Installed the rear seats net, like i had in the A1. Came out great in my opinion, let me know what you think as always. ![]() ![]() Then it was washing time for the Golf as well ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Interior was in a pretty ok condition, only the floormats needed attention ![]() And some shots i took ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers guys Mike |

Hello and Happy New year to all of you.
I have another update to share with you guys So, it had been in my mind for quite some time, that since this car isnt as fast, performance-wise, as my other projects, although, percentage-wise, power increase from stock, is 60%, nevertheless i thought it could look nice under the bonnet. So I found some things available for this car. Mostly, billet caps for places here and there. The Oil Filler Cap Coolant Cap, Washer Fluid Cap, and the Top Mount Caps. Firstly, these three arrived which were supposed to be a direct fit for my car. ![]() Their quality is amazing ![]() ![]() ![]() However........there is an issue when it comes to fitting them. It wasnt specified that these were designed to fit on top of older style caps. Oem ones, but from older cars, Golf mk3/4 era, and TT era. So, their bottom sides looked like this ![]() ![]() And they supplied headless worm-style screws to tighthen them - which were not much needed as they had a tight fit if you had the right caps. The washer fluid cap, needed no oem cap, it was a direct snug fit, so that went on easily first ![]() ![]() Also, the oil cap, went on the existing one, with the help of the small screws, and i also added some loctite there just for good measure ![]() Just the look i was going for ![]() Now, lastly the coolant one Here is the style cap our cars come with ![]() And this is what you need to buy to make it work ![]() It is the same from below, and fits perfectly ![]() Like that, flush fit ![]() And this is where you can add the little screws for extra strength, and i did. ![]() ![]() Secured ![]() Installed ![]() ![]() Love the look ![]() General Overview ![]() ![]() hmmm wonder if we can do something about these as well ![]() Well we can, we surely can Boom ![]() ![]() These were also available in black aluminum, but where they are located under the plastic undertray they would be lost so i went for silver for a subtle contrast ![]() Quality once again, amazing ![]() |

Despite the heavy rain, on NYE, i went out and went for it, hehe
![]() Marking the wipers location prior to removing them to then remove the plastic undertray ![]() Remove the OEM plastic cover and you are left with this ![]() Caps side by side ![]() ![]() Added some blue Loctite prior to installing to prevent diesel vibration from removing the cap- trust me it vibrates. ![]() And then it was a matter of installing them on Passenger side ![]() Driver side ![]() And this is how it looks with the plastic cover back on. ![]() It is there, but very subtle ![]() Cheers guys ![]() Happy New Year Mike, @mgpdoc over on instagram |

Hello how are you doing.
Have some things to show you. Remember the floormats i had purchased from a seller over at ebay ? Yes they looked awesome. But in three months time they looked more tired than oem ones did in a 3+ year period time. Look at them. ![]() ![]() ![]() So decided to go for new OEM ones. Couldnt find the colour combo i was after so went with these. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And here they are installed in the car ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then I sourced something from Germany that i wanted for a long time. I bought it new, with instructions and hardware for installation. ![]() You know what it is ? ![]() ![]() Now you do ![]() Yes it is a high beam assist mirror with auto dimming. ![]() ![]() Then, owning the car for 4 years, i decided to change a battery. Had zero issues with the factory one, none, but changed it nonetheless just to be safe. Also went for a slightly larger one, but still alowing for the spare wheel to fit inside. Given that this has the start-stop ability, it costs a lot. And i havent ever paid so much for a battery, ever, but oh well. Some photos of the installation. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On a side note, I also picked up an Iphone XS 256, so i might take better pics even without my trusty Nikon, LoL ![]() Always wear some protection I guess ![]() |

Another maintenance issue, is the trunk springs, which were a bit tired after the 4 years. Not too tired, but the trunk wanted some help to go up
![]() ![]() Had to remove the stock ones, pretty straight forwards, just remove the pins ![]() ![]() ![]() And then install the new ones. Job done. Lastly, something which was not planned but happened nonetheless. Did it ever happen to you, to search for OSIR products on ebay and come across Forge products ? Well it happened to me. This guy was selling these, hardly used, so I just had to ![]() They go on top of the OEM ones like this ![]() ![]() I first tried these on the TFSI ![]() ![]() But they didnt fit the theme. So i thought lets put these on the little Audi and bring the black ones on the TFSi. Like this . Golf ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And then, the new Forge ones on the little Audi ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers More to come Mike, @mgpdoc over on Instagram |
