Brake Caliper Removal

Does anyone have tips on removing the rear brake calipers that are proving rather difficult to remove when installing new pads?
The ECS tuning diy video makes it seem simple enough, but after removing the two caliper bolts , I could not “ wiggle” it off. Should I pry or hammer it loose, and it this normal? I assume this happens as the piston is in further when pads are worn. Appreciate the help.

Did you keep the parking brake on, it should just come off. Try cracking the bleeder.

Front or rear? On either, rotors can accumulate a rusty bead on the outer edge which is the rotor that pad wear leaves behind. Sometimes the pads just can't get past it. You don't have to remove the rotor, just rotate in between some say 80 grit sandpaper pinching that edge(until it's flat with the working surface) and the loaded calipers will slip right past it. Some reference for you.

I sorted this out today. This was for the rear which are still OEM calipers. My Brembos on the front are very easy to work with. The videos helped. Thank you. I " levered" it off using the back of a hammer covered with a piece of cloth. (Video uses a screwdriver)
Once I retracted the piston, it went back in easily. Fo those who need a caliper tool, I purchased a kit from "Cartman" on Amazon for $14, which worked very well.
