2009 GTI Timing belt whine after replacement - HELP

Just replaced the following on my 2009 MK5 GTI:
Camshaft position sensor
Timing chain
Guides & tensions

Once the job was all done I started him up and got this whining sound, you can hear it on my video here: https://youtu.be/sS7NfzcWspU

There's no pending or thrown p0016 code. I've torn it apart twice now to ensure I didn't jump or skip on the chain. I've even taken off the serp belt to see if the whine is still there. No luck.

2009 GTI Timing belt whine after replacement - HELP
Your 2009 is an TSI with a chain right? I have an FSI which does have a belt...It does sound like cog and tooth belt noise though. Did you do this from a kit of parts for your VIN #? I would spray some Permatex "Ultra Slick" PTFE dry lubricant on the business side of your timing belt as it's running and if it quiets down... you know it's not pulley bearings and probably not tension-er (bearing) noise but some compatibility of the belt teeth in the cog wheels that we are hearing. I once replaced a Gates serpentine belt with a Goodyear Gatorback belt (On a Ford Escort) and it made noise very much like you have. I got another Gates belt for the car and problem solved. Later on a mechanic I spoke to said some belts don't work well on some cars. "I have seen that before". This is all just spitballing. Don't take any of my comments as gospel Okay?
