I just went through this 3 weeks ago. It was a pain in the rear. It's easier to remove the intake manifold and clean those nasty valves as well. It took me 2 days and a lot of cussing. I had to remove everything to get to the stupid plastic housing.

Apparently, it can be done in around 2 hours without removing much.
Some have used a mirror or phone camera to guide their bolts while squeezing between everything.
