Shift Knob Gap

I purchased my 08 GTI like this, under the OEM knob is a silly looking gap.

Now I actually like the bride shift boot and would like to keep it.

Would anyone recommend an aftermarket knob which would fit & eliminate the silly looking gap?

Not sure how the current shift boot knob is secured, but if it's a zip tie, rubber band, etc. I'd say pull out the plastic trim and see if you can remove it. Hike it up a little more and hold it up in place with a rubber band. That's how I have mine set up (BFi shift knob with stock boot).

There is (or was?) a plastic serrated ring that snaps/clips down to the bottom side of the OEM knob that holds the boot up to it snugly

See if it's still there and try to use that
