This looks bad

I was changing my oil today. I am super lucky to have a heated garage in Chicago in Feb.

Under the oil cap there is oil that looks like pudding. The oil that came out of the engine looks fine, but this looks like water contamination to me. I have been told this is normal.

What do you think?

You driving short trips in that cold weather, engine not getting up to temp. Have you been losing coolant?

If oil in the block was fine, probably moisture getting past the oil cap seal. Maybe new oil cap is in order?

I have a long commute. I rarely do not get up to temp on a trip even in the -30 F craziness last week. That picture was taken after 30 minute drive.

No loss of coolant.

Then no leak just condensation. Pcv in good working order.
