I watched my buddy drop a bolt into his VANOS unit on his M3 the other day. Shit dropped down the chains into the crank case. He fished it out with a magnet on a stick and a coat hanger. If he can pull a bolt from the bottom of his CC up through his VANOS unit and chains then you can get if from yours.

Oh I dropped the bolt in the JET ENGINE I was working on... Guess we need to just grab another... I'd hate to be driving behind you when it falls under the car and bounces down the road
