Yep, see the link below. I found replacement compressors where far cheaper in the UK, unfortunately mine died with an Australian summer looming so I had to take the saftest most expensive route.

Had mine replaced - it's not as simple as just replacing the compressor. Mine cost $2200 - plus both radiator fans which added $1000 to the bill - ouch!

Mine only does that if the car is locked and you try and disconnect the battery, if it's unlocked the alarm doesn't sound at all. Weird problem you got there.
