Nice, are you planning to buy the retail version?

Also, does anyone know if you need a legit copy of XP or Vista to use the upgrade to Windows 7?

I'm one of the very few that have no complaints with Vista, so I won't be upgrading for a while... It'll probably be a rainy day purchase for me lol

It came preinstalled on my laptop

Oh ok, that's a good thing.

I've been contemplating on either:

1) buy Windows Vists 64-bit Home Premium OEM & get free Windows 7 upgrade

OR

2) buy Windows 7 upgrade (pre-order) and hope that I can upgrade from my copy version of Windows XP Pro

Any suggestions? :frown:

Remember Windows ME & Windows XP?

Well.... Windows Vista = Windows ME.
Windows 7 = Windows XP.

x2....

from what i hear windows 7 is built on the basic platform of vista but greatly improved upon. i had vista home premium before 7 and it sucked balls compared to 7. 7 runs much faster and a lot ore stable. i have not had one crash yet.

I'm running Vista 64 home premium with no real issues to complain about. I'll get windows 7 when it's released I'm sure, only because I like to have the latest stuff, but really I'm not in any hurry.

My Windows computer at home runs all my design software just fine, and actually does better than my Mac at work.

I'm running Vista Business 64bit, I did a dual boot with windows7 RC1, a lot of my legacy programs did not work with 7 (did a lot of tweaking to get them to work with Vista but they work 100%). Antivirus was an issue also. Driver support needs to get better by the time they Release it.
