Who has more warranty works on his/her car than I do??

I must say, this DSG issue is really starting to scare me. I do not want to buy a car and be stung with a $4000 repair bill for one part.

Our first gen DSG should definitely be a concern. I understand it would cost more than $4000 to replace, even with a reconditioned unit. Agree with Greg and others, $1500 - $2000 3-yr extended warranty is the way to go. If you are one who prefers to sell your car privately when the time comes (instead of trading in), the balance of extended warranty would be a plus for potential buyers. Money worth spending.
