This is the BPY - FSI engine.
I put off replacing my timing chain and tensioner this year due to already having much else to do. So I decided to just drive it easy for another year and take care of it next year. Although, I may go two more years because I do need another K04 next year (it's producing a good amount of smoke when I throttle it fully these days) and I may also do coil-overs and a bit more next year. I currently have 155k miles with the K04 that has 97k miles on it. I expect the DSG will need its 160k mile service two years from now...because I only put 2500 miles on it over the past year.
So today I idled it until warm and checked VCDS - MB 093.
I know the spec range is ±5°KW.
But you want to see ±3°KW.
Mine was -2°KW.
So, I was just curious and wondering what others are seeing with theirs which have not replaced the chain, N205, or tensioner...and your miles.
