For some time, a few years now, running the typical E10 premium found at pumps here, mine has at times stumbled when attempting to start it. Happened, actually, more times than not. It was taking longer, requiring extended cranking. And at times I would think it was there, I'd let off the key, and it didn't make it. So I'd crank it again.
And yes...I've worked through checking out everything from timing, to compression, to fuel pressures, to making sure ignition bits are healthy. All good.
I eventually decided perhaps it is fuel quality, and to give non-ethanol premium (92 oct) a go.
Since filling it, more than a month ago...the engine has jumped quickly into existence each time I turn the key.
Not sure why such a contrast between the two, E10 and non-eth...but time will tell if E10 and my engine will just never be friends again.
