VW Golf MkV GTi with ET35

Hello,

I'm planning on buying new wheels for my Gti, but the question is, will i rub with ET35 17 inch wheel with a 225/45 tire?
My car is a bit lowered also and this is how its sits on 18inch vw phaeton wheels. I don't know the ET of those but i am assuming its ET 40.

Thank you in advance,
Adrian

i believe the rear will be tight depending on the camber degree and the fronts will rub on turns, and make u cringe when u hit a bump in a turn.

obviously fender rolling/pulling in front will help alleviate the issue and or camber plates/adjustable ball joints

oh and width of rim over tire width will affect the rounding of the tire edge and reducing rubbing.

best thing to do is find the offset, often in raised lettering on rim, and then hit a rims&tire calc. online and see how much ur new setup will change and get out there with a short flexible ruler and eyeball the differences.
