My wife and I are going to Vegas next month. This will be our first vacation without kids (5 and 7). My wife has been to Vegas before, but I haven't. Not a big gambler, so finding somewhere to waste a little money won't be a problem.

We arrive late afternoon Thursday, and I fly out Monday at 8AM. My wife is staying a couple more days for business.

I'll have a chunk of free time on Sunday because my wife wants to spend some time at a spa. I'm considering an exotic car racing experience like this https://www.dreamracing.com/ or a machine gun rental package.

Those who have been to Vegas, what are your favorite things to do, or that you would recommend for a first timer?

How about a strip club recommendation that is couples friendly ;)

I've lived in 'Vegas my whole life, and avoid the strip and casinos like the plague. Here's a few alternative recommendations off of the top of my head.

Double Down Saloon. A proper punk/dive bar devoid of tourists. Not too far away from the strip. https://doubledownsaloon.com/

Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City - All sorts of mt. bike trails from easy single track to downhill. There's a few shops in Boulder City that rent bikes. https://www.bcnv.org/519/Bootleg-Canyon

Tour of Hoover Dam - a tourist staple. Too bad they no longer offer the more hardcore hardhat tours though.

Casa Don Juan - my favorite Mexican restaurant..for when you get sick of dark smoky casinos. https://www.yelp.com/biz/casa-don-juan-downtown-las-vegas-3

Some restaurants with an "old-school" 'Vegas vibe.
Peppermill
Golden Steer
Battista's

The Mob Museum and Atomic Testing Museum are both interesting for a couple hours.

Thanks!

All of the strip clubs are couples friendly lol. They will pay your wife a lot more attention than you :p

That's the point :p But, not all strip clubs are created equal!

Only on this forum would my mind trick me. When I glanced at the title it first said (to me): "Vargas - what to do." lol

Pound some hookers!

Thanks for making me looks like an insane person to my coworkers haha. I tried to hold in the laugh but it came out louder than if I would have just let it happen

Don't to Exotic Racing, it is a complete rip off. $500 at least for a few laps and you hardly get to push the cars. Experience ends in minutes. If you do have the itch for an exotic car, definitely go to Royalty Exotics. The owner's name is Houston and him and staff are really down to earth and genuinely want you to have a great experience.

For limo service, hit up https://www.presidentiallimolv.com/

Avoid cabs like the plague, only do ride share. Only get a cab if you absolutely must.

If you want to go shooting, Machine Gun Vegas is the way to go. Affordable and great customer service. Plus free shuttle to and fro.

If you're into rad mini golf, KISS mini golf is at the Rio hotel. Fun thing to do to kill time.

I don't know where you're staying, but my favorite Spas are Sahra @ the cosmo, Aria Spa, Drift Spa at the palms place. Qua @ the caesers palace is pretty nice, too.

If you're a foodie, pretty much any steakhouse on the strip is a great experience. Notable ones are SW at the Wynn, STK at cosmo, Jean Georges at Aria, PRIME at bellagio.

Want the best burgers in Vegas? Holsteins @ the cosmo, or Gordon Ramsay's Burger @ planet hollywood. Dont bother with anywhere else, trust me.

Hoover Dam is a short drive, as someone mentioned above

Red Rock Canyon is beautiful to see and is a short drive from the strip, as well.

Downtown Fremont street is a must see. Historic casinos, crazy street performers, and of course Binions. Lot of history there.

Either way, have a good time. Be safe.

OH, as again mentioned above, most strip clubs are totally couple friendly. And yes, expect all the attention to be on your wife lol

Instead of the "race car" experience, I'd use the money to rent an exotic car for a few hours.

You need to see Freemont Street, but only after dark.

Buy a bag of carrots and feed the wild burros at Red Rock.

I'd skip most of the touristy and strip things on the weekend, with the exceptions of the Belllagio fountains and inside "mall", and the Flamingo's gardens and birds. Too crowded.
