Top tether for child seat

Hiya. I have the 1.4 TSi version. I was installing a child seat using the isofix mount today and fastened the top belt to the clip designated "top tether" in the rear (green arrow). The thing is, the way the belt runs from the top of the seat to the back, it prevents the cargo cover from sitting properly. In the manual is says something obscure about some models using the clip on the side (red arrow.) My car has both of these (twice) and was wondering if I can use the one on the side, or is it for luggage only? Thanks

Those are (typically) cargo tie downs.

Here in the US, our rear seats had anchors on them for the car seats.
