i topped out at 135 on my odometer in my passat completely stock and on the gps it read 132 on multiple occasions on open road with no one on the road.

I'd be more concerned with just the car holding up... I mean you guys do realize it's just an economy car with a turbo motor and some go fast bits. I've had rides in 600+ hp Evos (Mitsu lancers with lots more go fast bits than our GTIs) and they feel like they're going to fall apart.

I used to own a ep3 Civic Si. Anything about 80mph felt so unsafe. The whole car would just rattle. I pushed it to a buck twenty one time and had to pull over because I thought I had cheated death. At that speed felt like door was actually ripping off. The hood was even bowing lol

When I was going 156 my speedo read 165ish. I definitely still had some "left in the tank" so to speak, I'm sure I could have hit 165ish if i wanted too but I was running out of room on a local air strip.

I have a Mkv Gti unitronic stage 2 ,I put it to 160 mph all the time speedometer and GPS read. And still feels like it has more to go
