Taking opionions on lowering compression with a headgasket, I know some of you have done it, two questions, is it worth it if I have 9:1 lower mahle compression pistions already and where can I get a head gasket that is for overbored 83mm pistons?

I'm running 9.5:1 pistons with ppg thicker head gasket. No complaints here. I can run 26-27psi on pump with no concern. It leaves some room for error

So that equals around 8.5:1? I'm running the thinker head gasket that is suppose to put me at 9.5:1. I have no big turbo fsi experience on stock comp so I couldn't tell you if it's better/worse/same

Getting there. DSG files are pretty much finished, now to work on the suspension and the open diff is finally showing its weakness at 500+ whp. Alot One tire fire in first and blowing off tires in 2nd and part of 3rd

If your building BT and your planning on running higher boost or and run pump gas mostly then IMO your best bet is lower the CR a point . Since he has pistons and engine already out @ machine shop bore it to proper size to fit the new slugs. I also have the Lower CR head gasket I believe the first Arnold installed when he installed rods and refreshed the motor and it runs flawless now. Bob. G :thumbsup:

Making good power here 30mph gain on the top end. Once you figure your new setup and put a diff ,espec since your DSG car IMO you will be into the high 10 seconds by years end. Good luck.Bob. G :thumbsup:
