Southbend Stage 2 Clutch

Hey I made a thread over on vortex but I figure this will get more traffic

So I have a 2009 GTI TSI 6sp, and I need a new clutch/flywheel. Ive been APR Stage 2 etc for awhile now and my stock clutch is slipping pretty bad.

I think I have narrowed my search down to a Southbend Stage 2 kit

Where is the cheapest place to purchase this?

Ive done some slight research and found these 3 links but if anyone else knows anywhere cheaper please let me know.

Four Seasons Tuning

GoAPR
http://www.goapr.com/products/dxdclu...?id=20tsitrans

AWE
http://www.awe-tuning.com/awe-mk5clutches-5

Why are the prices between Four Seasons Tuning and AWE so drastic? Is there something I am missing?

Now most of my driving is highway driving am I going to go crazy with the chatter? Or does clutch/flywheel chatter happen when you are idle? I am a noob about this.

I dont mind having a stiffer pedal feel but I really dont want any more annoying noises coming from my car while I make my usual highway drive. I dont plan on going Big Turbo, I might go TSI K04 later this year but I feel like the Stage 2 will hold fine with that.

Thanks in Advance

Clutch Masters, a lot of people really like them for the TSI. My guess would be is that the chatter is a bit more with the CM then a silent design SB though

CM?

OEM TSI clutches are prone to failure.

true, wasnt thinking about that with you going to k04. cm usually means clutch master on here. cts is having a sale on cm actually

i dont think ive ever heard a problem from a cm, but i dont think ive heard a good story from sb... something to think about when you decide on saving a cpl hundred

You would be buying one of their SMF kits.

i have the south bend stage 2 endurance, its held for me with no issues

I had one of those, lasted about 10k miles until the springs tore out of the disc.

^ I had the same type of failure on two occasions where the springs popped out of my clutch disk. Happed right around 12k miles and then afte rinstalling SB's replacement disk and a new PP, for what I thought was going to peace of mind, I removed the disk after break in 1k miles later and wear was already noticeable around the spring seats.

SB says these springs are supposed to rotate by deisgn but there is something wrong that both materials are chewing into one another.
