Shop installed wrong Catalytic Converter on my car, should I go back and hav it fixed

Hi All, I'm from canada, and here is my situation.

My mech tells me my cat is done and my emissions test is due up. This shop I went to seems to be reputable as 2 mechanics recommend them to me, which I proceeded to use.

However, I discovered the model of Catalytic converter isn't compatible with my car (2007 VW Gti MKV).

I'm wondering if keeping this will damage my engine because of back pressure or if the Cat will not last as long even though is cheaper. Or I go back and demand a fix?

The size difference I thought accounts for more service area to filter the air. I think there is more honeycomb area in there.

I doubt there is any significant difference in flow. Should be fine.
