At least you caught him...although I'm kinda crazy so if I had walked in, I'd probably be in jail for killing him with my Louisville Slugger. I know myself and I wouldn't have stopped until his breathing ceased and his head looked like the guy in Irreversible after Vincent Cassel pounded his head in with a fire extinguisher (has anyone seen this besides me?).

if you kill him inside your house you wont go to jail, its self defense. I saw this same exact event happen on one of those dumb criminal shows where the robber came in the house to rob the place, only to have the owner hit him in the back of the head with a baseball bat. It's considered self defense.

I know it's self defense but I would've mangled him to the point it looked malicious and unnecessary. Then again, it had to be two or more people since the 65" plasma was 200lbs with a glass panel. In that case, I may not have been able to overpower them.

I'll tell you one thing, they made out like bandits...all this stuff totaled 10k or more.

Do you play your ps3 online and have auto sign in? The moment it gets plugged in to the net it will sign it self on (assuming they don't swipe the harddrive)....there has to be someway to see the ip address of where it signed in on...which would give you a rough idea of where it was located, which might lead you to getting back your stuff. They probably didn't take your mac for the same reason, cause you can track the newer macs....like your iphone if you have the right software. There was a recent youtube video on this.....

Watch craigslist and ebay...let the pawn shops in your area know about the ring and missing other items....do you have any flea markets?

Just take a moment and think logically the people that stole your stuff knew that you had nice things or heard about it from someone...they look for easy opportunities. Unfortunately you were one. So something must have given you away as oppose to your neighbors.

Your neighbors or people that you had over recently anyone look suspicious? Did you have people do any repairs on your house, cable-man? contractors? handyman? etc etc. Did you piss anyone off at work? See anyone walking up and down the street that looked out of place?

They are going to want to move your stuff fast and get easy money so flea markets and pawn shops are probably their first stop, if they don't cross state/county lines. After that it would be friends or friends of friends.

Do you have the serial numbers for your tv's? Did any of them go on the web or were internet capable?

Again sucks, just trying to help.

415, definitely an easy opportunity and I'm sure it was a targeted opportunity from someone in the neighborhood. My immediate next door neighbors to the right are an old couple that work on their garden all day. They also just so happened to have left that morning at 11am for about two hours. It also just so happens that they came in through the back but left through the side kitchen door next to the driveway...which looks right out at those same neighbors. They opened the blinds before leaving and loading up, obviously making sure those folks hadn't returned. I was being watched.

This was the very reason I always told my kids never to sit in the front doorway to talk to their little shit friends...you could see right in to the living room (hard to miss a 65" flat screen).

Got home from work yesterday to find that my house was broken into.

They came in through the side fence of the yard. They tried to come through a back wooden door (broke the cylinder on the door lock and tried to pry the door open) then they pried open the patio door. They took my TVs (65" plasma, 47" LCD and 30" LCD), my wife's diamond engagement ring, my B&W Zeppelin Air, PS3, Wii and all the PS3 games. Amazingly, they left my 27" iMac and thankfully didn't swipe our puppy Boston Terrier, Oscar.

Adding insult to injury, the even left the back patio door wide open so the house was fly infested when I got there. They went through all the clothes drawers, even tossing clothes waiting to be folded out of a laundry basket to use it to carry my shit in.

Worst feeling ever...like being raped.

maybe u should swipe out the boston Terrier for a Rottweiler ... They must of been busy taking all them Tv's out the house, and nobody saw anything?....and they left the computer?...WTFaddle:

really sorry to hear about what you just went through... Here in florida, there have been so many cases of perps getting wasted by the home owner that it is becoming a little less common. Everyone down here is armed, at my office most have a CWP.

This is a good idea, I was sitting on my couch one day and I let my 3 labs outside and I have 2 gates on the fence on each side of the house, the one is impossible to open unless your really strong so I hear some barking and look out side and my chocolate lab is about to kill someone because they opened the hard to open gate and was gonna try to break into my house, gotta love dogs to scare robbers away

Got home from my father in law's house where we just held by daughter's 5th birthday party, the neighborhood was canvassed with flyers from ADT offering free equipment and install to everyone in the neighborhood due to the recent burglary...I suppose my own misfortune might help others.
