Ok so i just got this installed today, picked it up about fours ago and have put 78 miles on it. now im still breaking it in but i must say, I LIKE THIS KIT. By that i mean i like the new feel. I remember reading that ppl weres sayin this felt like stock..? Hell naw, this thing is no kidding about 30% stiffer if not more. Also the clutch travel is shorter. I kind of like that, it makes the car easier to grab if you know what i mean. the stiffer pedal feel isnt all that bad and is plenty tolerable. My tuner said this kit was about 5lbs lighter then the stock kit, and may be so as i noticed barely a 500rpm drop in gear changes, before that i think it was right around or just under 1k rpm drop iirc. I cant wait to get some load on it and see how that really plays out.

Another thing i have noticed and LOVED is that the "lunging" or minor bucking feeling ppl complain about with the stock clutch is gone, thank the lord! That was always anoying as hell to me, so im glad thats gone.

Something else id like to point out, is that my clutch started to slip bout i wanna say 3500 miles ago, and when it started i kind of took it easy on it, but not really, lol. My dmf was toast, hot spots galore aand it just generally looked like shit, i just realized i should have gotten pics, but i didnt...maybe ill drive by there tomorro and see if i could snap some if its not at the bottom of a dumpster.

And the last thing is the clutch chatter. at idle you cant really hear it unless you rev it a bit, then its real apparent lol i mean that son bitch chatters, actually sounds awful  but on the same note sounds kinda of cool. I dont have any engine/trans mounts, only a pendulum mount.

So far, my overall opinion on this kit is  Time will tell i suppose, the real test is after the break in, but like i said, i like it thus far

Id also like to thank Berk at DBC for hooking me up with this kit and answering all my questions, thanks a lot buddy:thumbsup: Also mike at PureMS in San Diego for doing the install, and handling all my other problems, haha

i just installed a SBC Stage 2 endurance on my FSI. The pedal is noticeably stiffer, but still extremely comfortable to drive. Though I am comparing to a centerforce clutch I installed on my dads '78 vette.

I also installed a VF dog bone kit too, and have the other 2 mounts waiting to go in.

The car feels so much different, but I love it.

Did Mike and Tony work magic on your car?

lol yea mike always does solid work.

the kit cost me 925 shipped. another 5 hundo to install. i really love the solid feel, also i forgot to mention that "engine braking" seems more agressive as well...really worth it, i was mad at first when i had to drop the $$ on this, but outside the chatter this was def worth it..

this makes 0 sense, now I question the validity of the rest of the review.

engine braking, be careful during the break in period. Don't get herky jerky when doing that, you'll risk messing up your new SB kit & that would suck

Well i dont see how you cant, the flywheel is lighter then the stock hence the momentum helps spin. I dont see how thats hard to understand... Anyway its more 700 rpm drop not 5. I kno stock was ATLEAST 1k rpms.
Its w/e though dont like my review lol i dont care....

I take the engine braking easy, i just noticed how aggressive it is the little bit that i have used it...

I have about 4 month on my SB Stage 2 Daily clutch. As you mentioned the clatter was a bit disconcerning at first, but now it just seems normal.

My installer did not tell me to take it easy at first. I had it slip a few times in the first 1,000 miles then drove resonable for a month or so and it must have "fixed itself" because there is no slipping now with the K04 and a limited slip. DBC fixed me up with the clutch and the K04 kit.

I wonder what the Endurance version is like with the stainless steel plates, for a daily driven car?

the lighter the rotating assembly is the MORE it will drop between shifts, the engine will rev down faster, not slower as there is LESS rotating mass.

also I have no idea what you are talking about, changing the clutch and flywheel has no effect on the rpm split between gears, that is determined by gearing in the transmission.
