Biden goes back to higher MPG requirements, now need average of 40 MPG. I don't think VW is going to invest in electric motor assist for the GTI or R when they're touting EVs. I'm not sure if this is CAFE or each vehicle.

On topic, I am hoping the big three decide to start making, even in a limited sense, some more ridiculous 8 cylinders before all this takes effect. GM has that new 1000 HP crate motor out, jam that in a car and go. It would be nice to just let the engineers off the chain and blow it out the back door before EVs take a foothold. A pipe dream, but man it would be fun to watch.

It's CAFE with exceptions and less strict requirements for trucks. Trucks being CUVs and SUVs and pick up trucks.
