removing stock rear valence

i want to remove just my rear valence on stock gti bumper, im pretty sure its a separate piece, i popped off tow hitch cover tried pulling the clips from there but didnt work, i dont want to remove the whole bumper tho, thanks

you have 2 torx screws on the wheel arches and about 4-6 (can't remember the exact number) more under the valance on the rear.
It's held to the top part of the bumper with tabs, so once you remove all the screws you have to pull outwards starting from one side and working your way to the other.

Pro tip: use a small ratchet and torx bits for the screws on the arches, otherwise you will need to jack the car and remove the rear wheels to take them out as there is little space to work there.

i know that part i just want to remove the very lower piece if possible without removing the upper like above

If you mean this part, then I got bad news for you...
It's one single piece but molded to look like it's made of two parts.


but, if you have a votex rear, and mean the diffuser, then here you can download a PDF with the install instructions, seems like there are 2 winged nuts from the bottom, and then you pull outwards to release the other clips
