R20 HPFP vs KO3 stock HPFP

i checked on apr website that the R20 need a HPFP upgrade on the stage 2 ,

whats the differ bewteen R20 and our stock HPFP ??

if the R20 already have KO4 isnt that mean their HPFP is stronger than our stock one??

Its the same as ED30 which is identical to the factory BPY FSI pump.

I think anyone with a K04 kit can assume the reason they needed an upgraded pump is most tuners are asking for quite a bit more power than the factory, and so need more fuel than the S3 injectors can deliver at the stock pumps pressure capacity. Hence the need to drive rail pressure a bit higher. The factory K04 is being asked to deliver anywhere from 220 to around 260 hp versus the 310+ of the aftermarket tunes.
