Question What is the wiring block in glove box? Aux in?

Hi all, first post and have done numerous searches but can't find an answer.

Just bought a 56 plate TDI car and desperately want an aux in. My car is has the silver buttoned stereo. I believe it to be the RCD300+?

I read somewhere that the MY06 with RCD300+ had a socket in the glove box which you could wire an aux in lead to. Is this correct?

Could this be the socket?

I know i can always run one from the back of the stereo but was just wondering if this socket would save me the bother? Any clues would be gratefully received.

My aux is located in my armrest.

Don't know what that is in the glove box. In the US GTI model the aux is in the center console under the armrest. Not sure about the TDI. There are also aftermarket solutions like this one: http://www.doubleapex.co/collections/mkv-golf-gti-rabbit/products/aux-port-aux01?variant=338315370
