QTM?

What's a QTM and what do they do? I am having warranty work done to fix a busted intake flap motor (09 GTI) and they said they are having a VW QTM look over their work.

QTM is just the term they are using this month for regional service manager that works for VW and goes from dealer to dealer making calls as to whether certain things can be covered under warranty.

the name has been changed probably at least 20 times since I first worked at a dealer in 1999.

So they are looking to see if I modded my car which could lead to that fault and making sure the dealer isn't ripping anyone off with unnecessary work?

Good thing I waited with my chip.

No not necessarily. Sometimes they are having the dealer try somethign new and they are just signing off on that being done so they can track it. Sometimes it is related to mods, but sometimes its just a normal check.
