is the warning indicator on when you using it?
No, not until they failed.

anyway can yu give me the after market bulb for foglight?
i need the size of volt and watt :)
thanks
All the bulbs are 12V. Fog light bulbs are 55W stock.
As for bulb type, depends on which factory fog light fixture you have.
Most US mk5 GTi come with reflector fogs,
which are supplied stock with a 9006-55W incandescent halogen bulbs.
There are a few US mk5 GTi that came with projector fogs,
which are supplied from the factory stock with H11-55W incandescent halogen bulbs.

There are no dedicated DRL lights on US mk5s,
DRLs are either the headlights or alternately (if equipped) the fog lights.

What indicator are you asking about?
the DRL indicator in the instrument cluster?
the Bulb Out Warning indicator in the instrument cluster?
some even refer to the turn signals as the directional indicator?

Not sure what you are asking there, we may not be on the same page with terms. :iono:

So after a bit of research and shopping around, I decided to pull the trigger on these. The biggest issue I've read with the other festoon style LEDs were that the circuit boards were being exposed to the elements and that's what ends up killing them off. I saw that these were relatively inexpensive and completely sealed so I pulled the trigger. I've had em for 2 months. It was a bit finicky when I first put them in (both would randomly go out and throw an error), but now they're 100% reliable.

In the stock license plate fixtures?
They are well sealed against the elements, so much so that the LED killer
is heat buildup from both lack of ventilation and the 14.2V supplied to those fixtures.
Many LEDs rated 12V don't hold up well to that combination.
I suspect the length of time for each use has an impact on longevity,
I tend to see an average of 90 minutes each use with lots of 4+ hour cycles,
so maybe that accounts for the short festoon LED life I had seen in that location.
Went through four sets of festoon replacement LED bulbs,
none of the failures were related to moisture, all were heat related.
(and in most cases the failure was strobing rather than no light,
which is worse in my opinion as the rapid flashing draws LEO attention. )
I did get reasonable life from a set of 42dd 14V bulbs, but even those eventually failed.
IMO, an LED replacement should last the life of the car,
and that has been true for every other LED I have used on the car,
including over 190,000 mi on LED tails with no failures.
Good luck on the festoon replacements, but don't be too surprised if you are replacing them again soon.

Yessir, in the stock housing. My use cycle is abut 90 minutes to 2 hours 5 days a week. I'll do regular status updates on them. So far so good though. Would be hilarious if I just jinxed myself.

Yes. Should fit city lights, side marker lights (if you have them), footwell lights (if you have them).
Those positions benefit from error canceling feature. But they seem priced a bit high.

That size should also fit glove box light, ceiling map lights, rear dome (if you have one),
but those positions do not benefit as much from the error canceling.
(Maybe one error canceling on the interior roof lights to eliminate glow while off.)

Thanks for considering us, sorry the shipping rates are so high, we only charge what they charge, it is free within the US but outside of the US the rates can get up to $30+ depending on what you are ordering.

All our LEDs are tested and look great in the MKV GTI Model:

We also take requests if you don't see an LED you want.

Thank you
