You might try this...it is sort of a last resort for phantom recurring codes.
Just give it enough time while connected to fully drain stored parameters.
How long that is is unknown...as each may differ. So leave it a good while.
Most will say 10 to 15 minutes does the job.
Oh! The ol cap-discharge… I did that early on when I did the Tbelt. The whole job.

Typically, a non-tuned car will not show signs of wearing the peaks down...but there is the factor of how well it was taken care of, obviously. The 42.xx mm should last you.

Well she’s all back together, and aside from not tightening down the HPFP, the shake down drive went great! No more falling on its face at high loads. I was able to take it well past freeway speeds with no falter. Thank you all who have provided info on this journey.
I also checked the filters in the system and aside from a couple pieces of glitter, it wasn’t too bad!

Thanks! I hope the measurements help with your reference material you have been working on. Do you still need VVT readings? I brought my lap top with so I can grab some for you if you need some

No, but thanks. I see your replacement, although appearing to be slightly used, is at 42.5 mm. It's good confirmation of the specs I've seen to date.

I don't personally need your VVT data, but it is good for you to know. I just changed my oil and I always look at MB 091 Blocks 2, 3, and 4 and at MB 093 Block 3 when I do the oil service.

My MB 091 Block 2 looks real good with a 5.9% Cam Adjustment Intake Bank 1 (duty cycle). I typically see 6% to 6.9% on good working VVT systems. Which means it isn't working hard to achieve cam position, and has good oil flow and oil containment throughout the VVT bits. Its actual cam adjustment, shown in MB 091 Blocks 3 and 4, is as expected and within 1° of specified.

My MB 093 Block 3 is -2° which is also pretty good for mine being at 158k miles.

These are data other people should look at regularly with the age of their MK5s to avoid major damage. Typically you will hear chain rattling noise when at near 5 to 6 degrees of cam phase position in MB 093 Block 3. So for myself, I just watch these values regularly.

Now, data looking great in all Blocks of MB 091, but in MB 093 Block 3 exceeding 5 to 6 degrees doesn't mean just the chain needs replacing. Some, including myself, are learning this sometimes points to something else. I've recently helped one who said he did nothing but remove the chain cover, reinspected a few things as I suggested, and found nothing wrong. He put it back together and the value in MB 093 Block 3 dropped from 10 to 11 percent down to normal. Iono
