OEM Windshield Replacement

Speedy Autoglass just quoted me $615/all in, to replace my windshield. Does that sound about right?

Sorry, yes OEM glass.

I figured it was probably $400-ish for OEM glass -so that plus install and taxes for $615 seemed about right.. maybe?

I used google and found a place that quoted like 323.85

Can't claim insurance on glass and just pay deductible?

OEM glass was about $280 when I got quoted.

I went with an aftermarket that distributes glass for European cars.

Pelkington is what I have and I paid a little under $200.
Sekurit is another brand that makes European auto glass.

Nobody else I asked for quotes from bothered to reply.

nubpotatoe... I wasn't thinking about that; I never usually bother paying for comprehensive. So sure enough I went and looked at my agreement for this year, and it turns out I did opt in for it when I last renewed.

So I'm doing the $200 deductible route through insurance... even cheaper than getting it fixed on a trip stateside
