Still not a big fan of the exterior. Glad to see the interior and suspension have been upgraded to the standards we expect from VW.

I agree. Exterior makes the new jetta look cheaper.

I'd buy it over the non turbo'd Hyundai Sonata SE. Its actually more of what I NEED than a GTI but, I don't think I WANT the GLI over the GTI LOL.

There is talk about a jetta coupe, so if and when it does come out. Will there be a GLI version or even a "R" version.

I give the Jetta coupe a better than 50% chance of coming to the US market.

It only makes sense, given a couple notable things about VW.

1. They want to be the worldest largest automaker (an objective they openly discuss in the press).
2. Their near-luxury brand, Audi, has the A5 which is a successful model for their line-up.

I still have mixed feelings on the new GLI...it'll have to grow on me

I love it. The fact that its got all the performance of the GTI in a cheaper package is great. If this was out when I was buying, I might have ended up with it.

Few things I noticed....
-Where is the traction control off switch??
-Sunroof dial looks way nicer
-Dual zone climate control is great
-The exhaust makes more sense than the GTI's does... why try to fake a true dual exhaust when you only have 4 cylinders?

Definitely agree with the Germany thing...have a 02 Golf from Brazil and it's not the same.
