MKVI dogbone mount will not fit

I bought a brand new red dogbone insert (ECS Tuning) off the vortex.. I came to the realization after spending an hour hammering it with a mallet that it is for the MKVI, not the MKV.

If anyone is wondering, it will not fit. Ask me how I know.....

The wide front portion fits perfectly but the two smaller parts are not lined up to where they're supposed to go. They are also oval shaped cross-section, not round.

As I knew, FSI won't, but MK5 TSI.

I have only myself to blame, really. I posted this in case someone searches these forums. I did a few searches of MKVI dogbone or MK6 dogbone and didn't find too much.

I guess I'm a noob because I found that one, saw Golf V 2.0T and assumed that they meant the GTI.

I made a similar mistake, but not all is lost

I was able to fit the big piece and just one of the 2 smaller ones.
even with all the grease in the world.
anyone, Im a dumbass and upon further research i found I have picked up the worng one for a gti.

Anyhow I cut the piece off that would not fit and it works.
