MKV Dual Exhaust

Doing the dual exhaust install today. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Tricky part is getting it mounted, drivers side mount is going to have to be reworked tottally, passengers side might work though.

Tow hook is in the way, I'm gonna have to buy the valance off of the MK6.

My cat back that is on there now is 2.25" in diameter, while the diameter of the MK6 muffler is 3". I'm probably gonna have to have a muffler shop weld it on.

Nice! How'd you end up doing it? Modifying a mkv valance?

Yeah I ended up having to cut the stock valance. The MK5 valance that I bought that had two openings wouldn't attach to my bumper. That and I didn't realize that it was made for a car with a Euro license plate.

It's quiet as balls now, so I hope that it gets a little louder after I install the 3" cat-less downpipe.

I want to be able to hide the appearance of the exhaust pipes, I was hoping something like this would work.

I have no experience putting this stuff on, would I just attach it with some kind of adhesive?

The aluminum mesh came in yesterday. A friend and I are gonna put it on the car this afternoon. I'll post pictures up afterwards.

Epoxy failed and the mesh fell off :frown:

I'm trying to figure out what I can use that will stick better to the valance.

That doesn't look that good, IMO

I'd buy a new lower valance and try again, and/or put some dual exhaust tips on each side
The openings are currently waaay too big

I didn't have a choice. The cut out on the left side was way too far to the right originally and the tip on the new muffler was further to the left. It doesn't bother me with the mesh on there, if I was gonna go without the mesh then I'd buy a muffler that had two tips on each side.
