Mk7 GTI rear window "wings"

I've been seeing more and more mk7 GTIs around and cannot get past those trim pieces they put on the back window. Have you guys noticed? Thoughts?

They got I few new ones at the dealer down the street. But I haven't stopped in for a look.
Or a test drive. got ant pics of the "wings"?

Noticed year and half ago when the mk7 released.
Looks fine to me. Doubt it makes too much of a difference

If I got a mk7 I'd remove them. They really don't look good in person.

Yup. Those are for gas mileage. They should be body color. I guess all MK7's should be black.

They would kind of look silly in body color. Ruin the lines. Maybe someone is bored in work with photoshop.....
They are black to be less noticeable I would think.

Yeah, they bug me. I like the clean lines of mk6 a lot more. They look ok in pictures, but not so great in person. For me they add nothing to the car.

The spiders leave those in web form on my mk6 every morning. Now only if the spiders could spin a ko4.
