Mk5 GTI sound like a diesel!!! Please help

Hi Iv resently got a 55 plate golf GTI 2.0t and it just started to sound like a diesel there wasn't much oil in it wen I got it and Iv toped it up and still sound like its tapping or ticking !!? Please can someone help thanks

If you post a video of the sound the car is making I bet you may get some answers.

Get used to it , they are diesels in disguise . The tapping you hear is our injectors.

That more than likely. Though something may be wrong, but I'd say it's just the injectors

Thanks!! I think my oil pump has gone, the oil light came on and engine sounded a lot louder then normal so I quickly turned off the engine , wen the recovery guy came he told me to quickly turn engine on then off so he could see any oil spa shin around in engine oil cap, and he seems to think that too??!!

Is he correct and is it a big expensive job!!??!
