Ironshade 6mt swap

After seeing meltedsolids 6mt swap its time for me to do the same.
I'm currently on my 3rd 5mt. looking for 6mts (02q) theres is a lot of different gear ratios. Here is a comparison on the gearing. I went to 2013 CC/GLI gear trans code MDL.
I did some research and this is what i came up with as well as each gears shift point/drop

Goods are here. Ordered a ECS tuning STG 2 clutch. On sale 594$ figures crossed she work well.

Based off my previous dyno. Looks like even with the 2nd-3rd shift. Dropping me to 4400 rpm. It should still land right in the power band where my stock trans kills my performance in.

Nice that revs won't drop much.

With the 5spd and is38, does it fall that far out of power band when shifting?

Yeah, that's a pretty big drop. Hoping when you finish tuning with Reflect and it works out well, I'll go that route too with an E30 or flex tune. That'll probably give boost earlier. Of course will probably have to budget for 6 spd swap at that point for sure.

Are you doing the swap yourself or at a shop?

Yea, the 2-3 shift on the 5mt is utter garbage. I'm so glad that's in my past now.

Are you doing the swap yourself or at a shop?

Yup im swapping it my self. Before i go custom tune i’m going to push my apr+jb4 w/m stack. If it works out great i’ll just keep it that way. My stack runs stupid strong. 28psi redline

I'll spend a bit of time dialing in my tune then do another one. Although traction isn't really a thing before 3rd, and it probably won't be a thing even in 3rd after I dial in the tune.

Did you change to a is20 file from apr? Or are you still on a is12 file? I can probably dig up my stack setting. It was absolute max out of is20 on pump gas. ~25/26psi redline 28 spike

I'm on the IS20 91 w/ downpipe APR file now. I'm only running e30, so I don't think I can push as hard as you did on meth. Previously (on the stage 1 91 file w/ e30) I was running 26-27 peak and didn't have any issues aside from being close to maxing out the fueling.

niceee. Question did you no gear lean issue fix when you swaped apr file? (No more 14afr mid pull)

Yea, that's what fixed it. It's entirely possible the issue from the beginning was just a boost by gear bug from the 2015 apr software, but I have no way of checking.
