my name is Carlos, this is my first European car after only owning Japanese cars. My last car being a Mazda RX7. Completely in love with the GTI. Perfect DD.

Full circle - back again.

My introduction to the Golf was a 2009 Manual Rabbit. I loved the car, but wanted more. Since then, I've owned a Mk6 GTI, Mk7 GTI, and I now drive a Mk7 Golf R.
So, when my youngest kid got his learner's permit, there was only one car that I thought would be perfect. Now we have another 2009 Manual Rabbit.

Driving one again, after all these years, the car is every bit as good as I remembered. It's got just the right amount of power and handling to be fun, without getting into trouble. I honestly enjoy driving it as much as my R. Of course it isn't new, and is suffering from a saggy headliner, and odd-bits need to be replaced. Most notably, I'm going to need to replace the AC compressor/condenser etc..

I think some easy bolt-on mods will really bring the car to life. Cat-back exhaust, CAI, lower springs and a heavier rear swaybar.

Out here in Massachusetts. Love my car even if it is a money pit. I have a lot of subtle unique mods and more to come!!

so first time owner of a Gti love it so far. It’s an 09 Gti 3 door, and that’s all I know about it. It had leather seats in it when I acquired it, I took them out and got the plaid ones. Had black stock wheels I replaced with Vision Monaco 18 x 8.5. But as I said I’m new to euro I’ve been a Jdm (Nissan 350z and Subuar Wrx) owner my whole life. So needless to say I’ll have question arise.
