Previous owner disabled the DRL's...I'm assuming since the headlights are always on and the DRL's never come on.

Factory uses the Xenons as the DRLs. Alot of people turn them off, switch to fogs or even use the city lights instead. I used to drive a 2006 MkV. I'd be happy to meet up, tweak some stuff and fill you in on why 2006s > other MkVs
