How do you gun it in DSG?

Driving in D6 in DSG and you want to gun it, how do you do it?

1. Floor it in D6?
2. Left flappy paddle 3 times quickly to D3?
3. Pull back gear shift to 'S' mode, automatically kicking it back to S3?

i usually just kick it down if i want to gun it.. if i want to actually race someone - not that id ever do that - i get it in 4 with moderate throttle and left paddle once when im ready to go

im never in D or S mode so don't understand your question hehehe.

Im always in Man mode on the rare occasion i get to drive the GTI that is.

I find that gunning it while in D mode is too laggy so too speak as it takes it time to down shift S mode is better but depending on your speed most likly already in 3 anyway.

I love coming up to an empty lane at red lights, pulling it back into S, putting my foot down while the car's rev matching and then just feeling the sudden clutch dump and forward movement as the light turns green (has to be timed right ;) ).

Still haven't gotten used to this darn dsg thingy. On Monday, drop down to S and pulled from 50 in S2 to 110 in S3 before backing off. Bloody loud, it was still willing to go but I felt my hurt. Still wondering the best way :iono:

Sorry for the Newbie question...but if you put the car in "S" mode.. is this only used w/the paddles? or can you drive it like normal in "D" and just kicks into best gear for the car? Can someone straighten me out?

i always thought gunning it was when you put the accelerator all the way to the floor.:iono:

If you are in Tip (manual gear selection) and you want to move in a hurry, floor the pedal past the first stop point...you'll feel it when you do it. That will drop it down a few gears automatically and get you going.
