Can anyone give me a link, or a description of the process of hand polishing wheels? Namely new ones (so damage repair isn't nessicary)

Strip down the clear coat?

then do something with sandpaper?

then use some sort of polishing agent?

Sounds like a PITA James. What kind of wheels are you talking about? If you're going to hand sand them down, you could be there for a long time.

As for the fine sanding (pre polish), I'd use a 2000-3000 grit sand paper and probably wet sand it. Not sure what grade to recommend getting the clear coat off, I just know that I wouldn't go as lower than 800 or so. The same with body work really.

It really comes down to what kind of wheel you are doing it to and what kind of effect you are trying to achieve.

Sounds like a big headache. What are you trying to do? Pics?

Not sure what polish to use though.
