Nothing beats navel warfare in that department. Good points, and for the sake of those who may have to do this in the line of work or duty, probably for the better. I think.

Can you imagine warfare before medium to long range munitions?

Having to literally chop down your enemies.

Crazy.

All of my firearms are legally owned and acquired through proper channels, I am not a felon anywhere, I am not promoting violence. Quite frankly, I don't see the issue.

If you could please list some of these reasons for us? Maybe you can change our minds.

1) if ever you're involved in a shooting, an over zealous prosecutor can make the argument that you had such a fascination to guns that you showed them off on every forum or social media account that you had at your disposal. It's actually been done.

2) if ever the government decides to start confiscating guns, you'd have a hard time denying that you actually own a gun.

3) if ever you got into an argument with someone, like say on these threads, showing your firearm can be construed as a threat. Hardly prosecutable but it might actually be investigated.

Not paranoid here, I'm a supporter of the 2nd amendment, but unfortunately we live in a world where many don't support those rights and will go to whatever measures to use you as political fodder.

Here's how bad it is here in Minnesota, true story. 2 junkies break into a 70 year old man's home to rob him of his oxycontin that he takes for cancer. Old dying man does not own a firearm. He wrestles the gun from the junkie and pops him. Junkie dies, the other flees. AG's office hands his case up to a grand jury for possible prosecution. Grand jury does not indict the man so nothing happens to him. Moral of the story, there are people out there who genuinely hate gun owners with a passion. I personally would give this man a medal, but that's just me.

Just my opinion, keep your private firearms just that, private.

1) If I'm ever involved in a shooting, defending myself comes first, deal with the legalities after. My home defense gun is specifically set up to be on my side in the court of law.

2) Big brother knew I had them when I bought them, it's called a background check participated in 6 this year. Gosh forbid my 121 year old Mauser that I got through a gun show loophole becomes illegal...

3)I don't argue on the internet, nor would I or anyone on here probably stoop to that level of idiocy.

I too am not paranoid, that's why I'm not going to worry. Thanks though. If someone wants to make my firearms a topic of their life, I'm make them a topic of mine. Until then, let there be #gunporn

A grand jury is standard procedure in many states for homicide, it does not mean anyone is anti-gun.

I'm going to leave the rest of the post alone, but it's very tin-foil.

I have always been a fan of the simple Police trade-ins when it comes to shotguns. $200-350 you can get a 12ga with a 7rd magazine and little wear.

Some of the shotgun options these days are wild though lol.

I watched a show called Outdoors Delmarva on local Salisbury MD TV on Sat. One of the segments was some chucklehead hunting red fox with an AR. Dude had a monopod and waited for the fox to come in to about 50 yards away. He even had a small scope on the AR. The fox must have looked like the side of a barn. It took him...

...wait for it...

...FOUR shots to hit that poor fox.

Facepalm. It wasn’t a little fox either. It was over 20 lbs.

I give the fox credit. When speddly missed on the first shot, that fox was doing a better hasty zig-zag egress than I ever did myself during military training! :)

Zig-zagging more then a Jap convoy through the Sea Of Japan in the summer of '45! Lol. (i.e. a shat ton)

If there's any chance that the wife will have to use it, I'd go AR. Go with what's easiest to shoot effectively.

How about holstering a hand gun while driving a GTI? Possible? I feel like an IWB holster would be OK, but I wonder about the snug-ness of the GTI seats.
